Also known as Inconel® 22 and Hastelloy® C22, this material is highly ductile, making cold forming easier. Common applications include chemical processing, paper and pulp, oil and gas, pesticide production, sour gas services, and waste incinerators. Providing considerable resistance at elevated temperatures, Inconel® 22 has been adopted for nuclear fuel reprocessing, flue gas desulfurization and seawater-based applications.

With the nickel as its primary base, Inconel® 22 alloy includes a chemical composition of 20-22.5% Cr, 12.5-14.5% Mo, a maximum of 2.5% Co, 2.5-3.5% W, and 2-6% Fe. For annealing treatment, temperature ranges should remain between 2020 and 2150 ºF. Inconel® 22 is suited for applications that require superior performance at elevated temperatures and for its full spectrum of anti-corrosion characteristics.
