Copper strips are rolled copper which are formed into a wide, flat ribbon through a machining process. Copper has a number of uses in the automotive and electrical industries, thanks to its conductivity, and excellent malleability and ductility. It is used in projects such as switches and relays, contacts, terminals, stamped parts and semiconductor components. Some of C70250’s features include:

Copper content of at least 96.2%. Other elements include 2.2% to 4.2% nickel, 0.25% to 1.2% silicon, 0.05% to 0.3% magnesium, a maximum of 1% zinc, with the remainder being traces of other elements.

Electrical resistance of 40% IACS. Pure copper has a resistance of 0.15328 Ω and is known as 100% IACS. Copper is the standard against which all other metals are compared.

Good resistance to corrosion from the natural atmosphere. A natural film, or patina, forms over copper which protects it from further corrosion.

Good cold forming, electroplating, soft soldering and gas shielded arc welding properties.

Excellent antibacterial surface. Thanks to a 96% copper content, C70250 provides the full benefits of copper’s antimicrobial properties. Copper doorknobs in hospitals have been shown to be bacteriostatic, preventing the spread of potentially harmful organisms.

Melting point of 1,967°F (1,075°C).

Tensile strength of 131 MPa (19,000 ksi).
