Aluminum Specialty Extrusions - Series 7075
Aluminum Alloy 7075 is a zinc-aluminum alloy, with between 1% and 8% zinc content, that has very high fatigue resistance and strength properties. Despite being much lighter, its strength is equal to that of mild steel varieties. Like Aluminum Alloy 2024, it is commonly used in aircraft structures, however Alloy 7075 offers better corrosion and crack resistance. Its physical properties also make it ideal for use in other high-stress applications, such as structural parts, gears, and valve components. Continental Steel & Tube Company offers Aluminum Alloy 7075 in a number of specialty extruded shapes, as well as custom extrusions.
